Student Spotlight: “The Vax Collectors”

“The Vax Collectors” are a group of students at Fort Osage High School that competed in our Back To School Innovation Challenge on September 10th. The Challenge hosted over 150+ students from across the Kansas City Area to answer the design question: "How might we empower young people to solve the vaccination need in our community?".

The team’s idea is simple, yet effective: a series of videos in which individuals talk about who they got their vaccination to protect. The solution relies heavily on empathy – a key to our own organizational mission.

We had the opportunity to interview three team members – Liberty, Supha and Kyra – about their project and their overall experience in the challenge. Watch these students talk about the importance of youth activism below:
